Asset management, maintenance and remaining life of medium voltage cables course

Two-day training course dealing with the asset management of medium voltage power cables in general and the maintenance, condition and the remaining life of MV power cables and their accessories

Description:
Remaining life of MV cablesMost medium voltage cables are exposed to low current loads and can achieve a significant lifespan without causing major problems. Things are quite different when cables are subjected to high current loads and when accessories regularly fail, or when the cable itself is called into question in terms of its residual life. The influences of current load-carrying capacity and moisture are of significant importance for cables. This course is designed to demonstrate that with the proper knowledge and with the proper use of tools, it is possible to manage the acquisition of insight into the residual life of cables. This insight in turn becomes input for the replacement or maintenance policy. Both future failure behavior and future investments are linked to this.

This in-depth practical two-day training course is part of a series of courses on power cables, consisting of a general three-day course, Power cables in general (4 – 6 June 2012) and several in-depth two-day courses, providing more detailed information on the following topics:
>Ampacity and engineering aspects of power cables
  (7 & 8 June 2012)
>Ageing, quality assurance, testing, diagnostics and failures of
   power cables
(29 & 30 October 2012)
>Asset management, maintenance and remaining life of
  MV cables
>Asset management, maintenance and remaining life of HV and
   EHV cables
(31 October & 1 November 2012)

The entire series of courses has been completely revised for 2012 (new material and new subjects). For more information and registration, please refer to the brochure and the registration form.

On request, KEMA can also provide an in-house training course in English or Dutch (content, location and duration of the course can be adapted to the client’s wishes). Please contact us for more information.
