Air Quality Monitoring

KEMA is one of the leading and well-known authorities in the field of air quality related issues, with technical and in-depth knowledge of all activities that have impact on air quality

Millions of tons of harmful gases and particles are released into the air each year. Almost all the air we breathe contains very low levels of pollutants such as gases, dusts, moulds and chemicals, most of which are harmless. One in five people is particularly at risk from air pollution. We are not all equally sensitive to air pollutants, people who already have a lung disease, the elderly and children are likely to be especially affected by high levels of pollution. The concentration of harmful particulates in air we breathe determines the air quality.

KEMA is involved in extensive R&D programs to monitor and validate the effect of all kind of measures to positively influence the air quality. One example is our contribution to realization of an air monitoring network in the Netherlands. Another project concerns the impact of planting trees adjacent to highways in order to capture CO and fine dust emissions from the traffic.

Technical and in-depth knowledge of all activities that have impact on the air quality makes KEMA one the leading and known authorities in the field of air quality related issues, where both authorities and business rely on.
