Successful Market Entry
KEMA is recommended by FGW for surveys of existing facilities
According to the federal government, wind energy facilities should more strongly support the security and stability of electricity supply systems. As a result, wind energy facility operators should receive a so-called system service bonus per kilowatt hour if they fulfill particular requirements of voltage preservation during network faults at the network’s point of common coupling, among other things.
Assessment
For the obtainment of the system service bonus, an assessment of the electrical behavior of the generation facilities in the energy supply network is required in the form of a survey that can be conducted by an accredited expert. After KEMA submitted its first expert opinion for existing facilities to the VDE Verband der Elektrotechnik Elektronik Informationstechnik e.V. and the FGW Fördergesellschaft Windenergie e.V., those organizations recommended the Dresden firm for the survey of existing facilities.
KEMA aspires to receive an additional corresponding accreditation in the near future in order to be able to issue certificates for generation facilities. In this way, KEMA contributes to the further integration of renewable energy into existing energy supply networks.
