Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Mrs. Maria van der Hoeven, visits KEMA

On Monday, June 22, Mrs. Maria van der Hoeven, the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs paid a visit to KEMA.

The Minister’s working visit took place in the context of energy and environment technology in Gelderland, the province that Arnhem is capital of.

After a comprehensive and company-broad presentation on KEMA and on a selection of international, national and regional sustainability related projects, a round table conversation was held with a number of companies, representatives from the province and several knowledge institutions with a focus on energy and environment technology. This conversation was followed by a guided tour in our new High Voltage Laboratory, the world’s biggest, commercially operating high voltage lab. The working visit was concluded in the Flex Power Grid Laboratory.

Both the Minister and participants seemed impressed by KEMA’s testing facilities and the breadth and depth of our services. As a gift to the Minister and the Member of the Provincial Executive, KEMA has offered a book on the world famous opera singer, Maria Callas. This book was written by the KEMA employee Karl van Zoggel, who is internationally known as one of the biggest experts on this artist.
