KEMA invests in a new high voltage laboratory.

Today’s demands have made KEMA decide to invest in the construction of a new High Voltage Laboratory. The new laboratory will have more facilities and most important: more test bays for meeting today’s demand in terms of speed and technical excellence.

The present KEMA High Voltage Laboratory has been in service since 1927. Both the High Voltage and the High Power Laboratories have been recognized over many years as independent and impartial test houses. The new laboratory will be built adjacent to the High Power Laboratory. For clients whose components need to be tested at both laboratories no more transport will be needed between the laboratories. This means improved flexibility and speed.

Confidence in type testing
The new laboratory will be a modern industrial building with more facilities and test bays. The present test equipment will be refurbished and reinstalled. New equipment will be purchased that fits in the new methodology for testing.
With this important investment and the ongoing investments in our High Power Laboratory, including those for 800 kV full pole testing, KEMA shows its confidence that type testing for medium, high and ultra high voltage networks is and remains an important aspect in today’s international energy market.
